Resilient Women, Resilient Communities: Strengthening Climate Adaptive Livelihoods and Disaster Preparedness in Bagamanoc, Catanduanes
In Bagamanoc, women carry much of the burden when typhoons disrupt household income and force families to evacuate or relocate. This project strengthens the resilience of five women's associations and the communities around them through four linked components. Each association will receive start-up kits and training to run small, climate-adaptive enterprises, covering business planning, financial literacy, microfinance access, marketing, digital skills, and green livelihood options. Alongside this, the project will support anticipatory action and household preparedness planning ahead of typhoon season, and restore coastal and upland ecosystems that buffer the municipality against storm damage. By securing income and preparedness at the household level, the project aims to reduce the risk that families are displaced by the next major storm.
Composite displacement risk for the project location from the RICD diagnostic (hazard exposure, vulnerability, adaptive capacity), on the five-level scale Very Low → Very High.
